This font is most likely the “Palatino”, designed by Hermann Zapf in 1950- one of the most used typefaces in the world but still look fresh to my eyes.
Just a little thought- I personaly think this logo can be nicer if the letter-spacing is little bit tighter and show the word “chemists” some other way such as in uppercase or diffrent possition.

West Village, NYC

Time goes by so fast.. It’s been already eight month since our baby Yuki was born.
I’ve spent time with him (and of course with my wife) as much as I could and I’ve seen the most amazing growing stage of his life.
I would like to thank everyone who supported us.
I’ve also realized that people in the city are so kind to babies.
We would never have to ask someone’s favor since somebody always offer us a help.
Anyway, my son Yuki and my wife (you see in this picture) are doing great.

giggle is a baby store in New York City.
If you have a baby, go there and you will find some wonderful products.

Kerning (means adjusting white spacing in a proportional font.)
Prior to the DTP, designers used to adjust white spacing one by one by handwork in the old days.
However, you will never reach the big concept if you are worried about small thing in the beginning. That’s right.
But, when I am standing in the platform at my subway station every morning, I can’t help being conscious about this particular sign’s kerning.
Today I became free of such frustration.

The NY subway signs are quite bald and clear and I believe these signs will put into tourists’ minds as well as one of the NY impressions.
Whether the subway with the accurate signs come into the station or not, I think it’s a great design system.

One thing, I hope this can be tad more sophisticated since it’s in public.

I’ve never really thought of a font like paleography because it only makes me feel an ancient history deeply, and I’ve only seen it in traditions.

However, when I saw this logo in the cutting metallic material sign installed on an entrance of the modern building , I realized the beauty of design in the type face.Then as I closely looked at the logo in the paper & website, I felt this was carefully refined into details that has its modern sophistication.

Even if paper made “news paper” disappears in the future, I believe the logo will still be existed and continue to be refined by generations.

DIESEL STORE at Union Square, NYC

I had a chance to see my friend’s video shooting project at a furniture showroom & factory in Chelsea. They were making a pilot TV show.

The sofas are upholstered with white cloths so their shapes can be more visible.
They’ve been making furniture since 100 years ago and still keep their traditional craftsmanship.

Mike Kobal, the photographer, is shooting the video with a single-lens reflex camera and make more beautiful images. Lisa Sternfeld, the lead, guides you to the world of design!
I can’t wait to see her show on the TV networks one day!!
